Alli Kingfisher is Washington State Department of Ecology’s plastics policy specialist. She has 20 years of experience working on a wide range of sustainable materials management policies, projects and initiatives. Alli has a passion for working across sectors to find common ground and practicable solutions. She is currently leading the team implementing Washington State’s recent plastics law that establishes minimum recycled content requirements in several types of single-use plastics and prohibits certain types of expanded polystyrene products. In the US Plastics Pact’s first year, Alli served on the Advisory Council and the problematic materials workgroup.
Alli holds an MSc in Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability from the Blekinge Institute of Technology in Sweden and a BA in Environmental Studies and Geography from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Outside of work, Alli and her wife Kelly live in Spokane, Washington and spend their time cooking for friends and planning backpacking trips to remote corners of the world.
