Responsible for: project management, event management, communications and marketing projects

Success Measures:

Success for this position looks like:

  • Assisting the Marketing and Communications team with the development and promotion of TRP’s core work
  • Assisting the Events Manager with planning for, logistics around, and delivery of successful events that help to best deliver our tools, resources, and story to all of TRP’s partners
  • Successfully managing projects, tasks, and timelines as requested by the Events Manager, Director of Communications and VP of Strategic Communications and Marketing
  • Writing and posting press releases, blogs, and other content as directed on WordPress and TRP’s social media channels
  • Distribution of press releases through various media relations software
  • Management of webinar platform, content, and execution
  • Oversee and execute conference grant programs, including managing acceptances, tracking registrations, processing post-event reimbursements, and other logistics as needed
  • Manage the annual Conference Landscape and Events Calendar
  • Draft and submit speaker proposals for upcoming conferences and workshops

Job Purpose:

The Recycling Partnership is seeking a dynamic, engaging, entry or associate-level employee to add to their Marketing and Communications (MARC) team. The position will support The Recycling Partnership’s Events Manager (50%), Director of Communications (25%), and VP of Strategic Communications & Marketing (25%) and report to the Events Manager with ultimate oversight by the VP of Strategic Communications & Marketing.

The Event Coordinator will primarily support the Events Manager to execute the three largest events hosted by The Partnership in 2020, as well as support the overall events calendar and The Partnership’s webinar platform. Previous experience in event execution and/or management, project management, marketing and/or communications is preferred.

The position will also aide in telling and promoting The Partnership’s story through our Marketing and Communications team, overseen by the VP of Strategic Communications & Marketing and the Director of Communications. A proven ability to write for multiple audiences and to be detail oriented is required.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS FOR THIS JOB

  • 2-4 years of prior marketing and/or communications experience required
  • Prior public relations or marketing agency experience or similar preferred
  • Experience in event execution and/or management or similar required
  • Experience with WordPress and social media channels in a professional setting required
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications and/or marketing required
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50 days per year
