Nestlé: Coffee Partners

The Need: Nestlé has a product that is a two pack of coffee jars displayed and sold in the club store environment. We wanted to make sure the product components were compatible with the recycling stream.

The Solution: We produced an LDPE sleeve incorporating 30% PCR. This sleeve allows improved shoppability for consumers, uses less plastic by weight, is recyclable, and incorporates PCR.

What makes it particularly smart or circular? By utilizing printing technology, we improved the overall shopping experience for the consumer and made the packaging more circular

Results, Benefits, and Outcomes to Date: This innovation has been launched nationwide. A key lesson is to ensure enough time is taken to ensure the right performance and consumer experience alongside environmental impact objectives.

How are you communicating your success? We are utilizing the How2Recycle® label in product communications to indicate recyclablity of sleeve to consumers and have shared this rollout with key customers.
