With fifteen years of supply chain experience in the consumer-packaged goods industry, Crystal developed a passion for the circular economy after buying rigid plastics as a category manager in procurement. She has experience working with suppliers to design materials that are more circular in nature and increase collection of these materials as well as helping develop and implement corporate sustainability strategies. In her prior role, Crystal enjoyed educating and engaging business partners to understand how their individual actions were critical to collective sustainability initiatives. Crystal’s experience leading cross-functional teams and external partnerships is helping the U.S. Plastics Pact in the effort to bring together the entire value chain to move toward the circular economy and solve the plastics waste crisis.
Why I Care About the Circular Economy
“As a mom, I think a lot about my children’s health, happiness, and opportunities. I realized that all the vacations, activities, and educational opportunities in the world don’t matter if they don’t have a safe planet to live on. Working toward a circular economy protects my children’s futures.”
Personal Passions and Interests
When not working to further the circular economy, Crystal is most likely chasing her kids around. Her family enjoys hiking, water activities, and traveling. She and her husband are also foster parents.
