The Solution: Purina’s Tidy Cats Naturally Strong uses 50% post-consumer recycled plastic for its jugs. Nestle converts Purina’s Tidy Cats Naturally Strong uses 50% post-consumer recycled plastic for its jugs the sleeve from unprinted PVC to printed LDPE and incorporated 30% PCR. This sleeve allowed better shoppability for consumers, uses less plastic by weight, is recyclable, and incorporates PCR.

What makes it particularly smart or circular? This innovation is one step closer to rethinking waste as a resource by utilizing recycled feedstock into new product packaging.

Results, Benefits, and Outcomes to Date: This innovation has avoided the use of approximately 200,000 pounds of virgin plastic. Step-by-step use of more recycled content gets us closer to our goal to reduce our use of virgin plastic by a third by 2025.
